Calculator inputs

The fee comparison and pay and tax calculator perform calculations in your browser. The tools do not submit your entered balances, portfolio allocations, holding counts, income or other numerical assumptions as calculation requests, or save those values in their page URLs or local storage. A downloaded tax report contains the information you choose to export; how you store or share that file is under your control.

Selecting fee products requests their records from the server. Selected product IDs can appear in the page URL, browser history and ordinary access logs. Browser features, extensions and shared devices may retain information separately from these tools. Do not treat a browser session as private from other people who have access to your device.

Information collected through other features

You can search public documents and use the calculators without an account. Searches and document requests are sent to the website so it can return results. If you register, the website stores your name, email, password hash and account or verification status. Subscription features store the selections needed to deliver the document updates you request.

Suggestions and emails contain the text and any contact information you choose to provide. Suggestions are emailed to the designated website contacts for review. Please send product/document details rather than sensitive personal or financial information. Technical requests can also generate IP address, browser/device, request-time, error and security or rate-limiting records.

Purpose, access and service providers

Information is used to operate the site, respond to requests and corrections, administer accounts and requested notifications, maintain documents, investigate errors and protect the service. Site administrators and the hosting, database, backup and email services used for these functions can handle the information needed to perform them. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law.

Email to the published Gmail address is handled by Google. Service providers may process information outside Australia; locations depend on the provider and hosting arrangements. Contact us for the current arrangements relevant to your request. External product-provider websites receive information when you visit their links and operate under their own privacy policies.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses session and security cookies, including for form protection and account features. Other public pages may load Google Analytics in production, which can use cookies and collect page, device and usage information. The fee comparison, pay and tax calculator, and these legal-information pages do not load the site’s Google Analytics script.

You can manage cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may prevent forms or account features from working. Google explains its handling of information in its privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Browser settings do not control data you send directly in an email or a suggestion.

Retention and security

Account information, messages, subscription records, logs and backups can persist beyond a browser session. Retention depends on the record, operating needs, backup cycles and applicable obligations. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion rather than assuming that closing the page removes server records. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We may need to verify your identity before dealing with an account request; do not send identity documents unless a secure process has been agreed. Requests are considered subject to applicable legal and retention obligations.
