Using FP Doc Finder
Important information & terms of use.
Information to help you understand the scope and limitations of the website. Updated 4 November 2026.
General information and licence status
FP Doc Finder provides document references, factual product information and arithmetic illustrations for Australian users. The information does not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. It is not a personal recommendation or a substitute for financial, tax or legal advice. Entering a balance or other assumptions does not assess whether a product or strategy is suitable for you.
The operator does not hold an Australian financial services licence or act as an authorised representative. The website is intended to provide factual information and tools, rather than financial product recommendations. No ASIC, APRA or other regulatory approval of the website, its calculations or a listed product is represented.
Before investing, switching, consolidating, withdrawing or otherwise acting, consider your circumstances, obtain appropriately licensed advice where needed, and read the current Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), Target Market Determination (TMD), fee and investment guides and any updates. A TMD describes a target market; it does not determine your individual suitability.
Fee comparison limitations
The fee tool estimates selected ongoing costs for one year using a constant balance and the scenario shown. It does not calculate your actual statement charges, forecast investment returns or rank product quality. A lower fee does not mean a better or more suitable product. Investment values and returns can fall, and past performance or historical fee estimates do not predict future results.
- Starting assumptions: one investment option; where applicable, one Fiducian fund, no SMAs or external funds, no cash allocation and two ORR deductions at the disclosed maximum. These are illustrative assumptions, not your account facts. Actual minimum cash requirements and product conditions may differ. Open “Adjust assumptions & details” to change them.
- Selected costs only: investment-return and separately labelled reserve-funded costs are off by default. A $0 account subtotal does not mean a product is free. Turning a cost off changes the displayed subtotal, not the product’s charges. Enabling the setting includes the available MER, unit-price, investment and reserve-funded costs; reserve-funded costs are not extra account debits.
- Different product scopes: a standalone managed fund’s costs may exclude a superannuation account, platform, adviser or other wrapper. Compare like-for-like accounts, investment options, unit classes, features and risk. Do not compare a fund-only subtotal with an all-in account total as if they cover the same services.
- Unresolved information: missing inputs and ambiguous fees remain unknown. “Partial estimate” shows known charges only. A fee review records the disclosed rules and evidence at its review date; it is not provider certification, regulatory approval or an assurance that every possible charge is captured.
- Product-specific conditions: super, pension and TTR fees, investment menus, fund counts, cash, tiers, minimums, caps, waivers, rebates, family aggregation, legacy eligibility and negotiated arrangements can affect charges. Monthly deductions and rounding can differ from annual illustrations. Disclosed maxima may exceed actual charges.
- Investment costs: some rates include historical performance fees or indirect costs. An aggregate rate must not be added to its included components again. A manually entered MER is your assumption, not a verified option rate. Future performance fees and trading costs can differ.
- Tax and refunds: amounts follow the source’s disclosed GST, credit and rebate basis. The tool does not apply a universal tax credit or calculate your personal tax position. Conditional fund credits, low-balance caps and year-end refunds may be unresolved or shown before adjustment.
- Excluded costs: unless expressly included in a reviewed schedule, estimates exclude personal advice, insurance premiums, brokerage, buy/sell spreads, switching, contribution, withdrawal, exit and other activity-based charges, personal taxes and charges from a separate account or platform.
Fees are only one part of a decision. Switching or consolidating can affect insurance, cover eligibility, tax, access conditions, guarantees and other benefits. Confirm these consequences with the relevant provider and an appropriately licensed adviser before acting.
Advanced portfolios use selected options and allocations totalling 100%. Only reviewed eligible menus can be combined. Fund/option costs are weighted by their allocated amounts; account fees, caps and rebates are not duplicated per holding. Separate account cash is removed once where the menu uses an invested-balance basis. Initial and retained minimums, lifecycle eligibility, unit-class restrictions and closed options can limit feasible allocations. An unknown rate, unsupported mixed-fee condition or uncertain adjustment prevents a complete estimate.
Named investment choices do not make future charges certain. Disclosed historical performance and trading costs can change. Where only the payment method of a known aggregate is unconfirmed, the full-cost setting can include that aggregate once, while an account-only comparison remains unresolved. This does not invent the direct/indirect split or treat an unknown amount as zero.
Portfolio asset allocation methodology
The detailed comparison accepts up to ten investment options, added only as needed. Look-through asset weights are calculated from the selected allocations and dated reviewed disclosures. Separate account cash is included once in the whole-account asset mix. The investment-cost toggle changes fee inclusion; it does not change investment exposure.
Growth and defensive classifications follow each provider's disclosed treatment, including split asset classes where quantified. Property, infrastructure, credit and alternatives do not have one universal classification. The tool does not silently substitute an APRA comparison methodology for a provider's own definitions. A defensive label is not a capital guarantee or a risk assessment. Unknown class weights or within-class splits stay unclassified; they are not redistributed to make an apparently complete portfolio.
Review outcomes distinguish unquantified disclosures, unspecified investment choices and unavailable sources. Standalone funds can use their own reviewed allocation without inventing a menu choice. Where a disclosure gives a validity end date, that snapshot is withheld after the date until reviewed again. Identified closures or winding-up notices are flagged; a historical PDS target is not presented as a current investable allocation.
Strategic targets, investment mandates and actual holdings snapshots are labelled separately, with their source dates where disclosed. Combining different dates or bases gives an indicative portfolio rather than a single-date holdings statement. Mandate ranges do not establish an exact allocation. Gearing, derivatives, internal cash, manager discretion and source rounding can prevent a complete look-through; inconsistent source totals are not normalised into invented weights. A published overall growth/defensive split can be known even when the underlying class split is not disclosed. Currency exposure is not counted as an additional asset class. These figures are not an asset-allocation recommendation, suitability assessment or guarantee of future exposures or charges.
Coverage, sources and updates
The catalogue and comparison cover the records available on this website, not every product, offer, fee arrangement or investment option in the market. Some records cannot be compared numerically, including insurance-only and certain defined-benefit products. Products may be closed to new members or restricted to particular investors.
Documents, extracted information and reviewed fee rules can contain errors, omissions or outdated material. Review and document dates identify the evidence available at that time; updates are not immediate or continuous. Check the provider’s latest original disclosure, supplements and fee notices. If a summary or estimate conflicts with the provider’s current disclosure, confirm the correct charges with the provider before relying on the estimate.
Links may open a provider website or an available catalogue document copy. External sources are controlled by their publishers and may change or become unavailable. Their content and privacy practices are separate from this website. A link, provider logo or listing is not an endorsement, partnership or recommendation.
Commercial arrangements
As at 4 November 2026, the operator has no provider sponsorship, commission, referral-fee or paid-placement arrangements. Product availability and displayed fee estimates do not represent a recommendation. Any future commercial arrangements need to be disclosed when introduced.
Other calculators
The pay and tax calculator has its own year-specific scope, assumptions, sources and exclusions on its page and generated report. It provides estimates rather than payroll withholding instructions, a tax return or tax advice. Do not use a fee subtotal as an assessment of tax payable, retirement adequacy or investment performance.
Pay and tax calculator disclaimer
Estimate only. General information, not personal tax or financial advice. Results may be incorrect. Check the ATO rules and get advice about your circumstances before acting.
Information, not personal advice
This calculator and its reports provide general factual information and illustrative estimates. Entering financial details does not provide a personal recommendation or a suitability assessment. The tool is not a substitute for tax, financial, accounting or legal advice and does not recommend a contribution, insurance policy or other strategy.
Accuracy, errors and changing rules
Calculations depend on the inputs, assumptions, rounding and selected financial year. Errors or omissions can occur in inputs, formulas, source data or software. Results may differ from payslips, ATO assessments and other calculators. Checks and review dates do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, currency or suitability. Changes to law, thresholds or ATO interpretation may apply retrospectively.
Check before acting
Check your entries and eligibility. Do not rely solely on this estimate to lodge a tax return, change withholding, salary sacrifice, contribute to super, choose insurance, borrow or claim benefits. Confirm tax outcomes with the ATO or a registered tax agent, and obtain appropriately licensed financial advice when needed. Using the tool does not engage us to prepare or lodge a return or monitor your circumstances.
Assumptions and separate liabilities
This is an annual liability model, not a PAYG withholding service. It assumes the full-year residency and family circumstances stated. Read the detailed assumptions and exclusions. Separate liabilities, including Division 293 and excess-contribution assessments, may still be payable. The tool does not verify deductions, hospital-cover eligibility, loan balances or contribution-cap carry-forwards.
Independent tool and report snapshots
FP Doc Finder is independent of the ATO; government approval or endorsement is not represented. Source links and comparison testing are not certification. A downloaded report is a snapshot, not a tax return, payslip, notice of assessment or proof of income. Recheck before later use and store or share exported financial information carefully.
